Location and Directions

The meeting house (Quaker House) is located at 5615 S. Woodlawn Ave, which is the the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago and is a block from the University of Chicago campus. See below for directions by car, public transportation, and bike.

The meeting house can be accessed from I90/94 or Lake Shore Drive. See map from Mapquest for specific directions.
 
From Lake Shore Drive, exit at 53rd St. Go west for ten blocks to Woodlawn Ave. Turn left and go south for three blocks.
 
From I90/94, exit at Garfield Blvd. going east. Garfield runs through Washington Park and the road splits. Follow the north road for one block and turn east onto 55th St. Take 55th St. five blocks east to Woodlawn Ave. Turn south on Woodlawn and go 1½ blocks south.

Directions by public transportation

The meeting house can be accessed via the (1) CTA Red or Green Lines, (2) #6 Jackson Park Express bus, or (3) Metra Electric Line.

(1) Take CTA Red Line or Green Line to Garfield. Catch the CTA #57 Garfield bus going east (catch on south side of street). Exit at Woodlawn and walk 1½ blocks south. More information on CTA.

(2) Take CTA #6 Jackson Park Express bus from State Street downtown. Exit at 57th Street (stop after Museum of Science and Industry) and walk 6 blocks west to Woodlawn and ½ block north on Woodlawn. More information on CTA.

(3) Take Metra Chicago-University Park from Millennium Station downtown. Exit at 55th-56th-57th Street station and walk 5 blocks west to Woodlawn and ½ block north on Woodlawn. More information on Metra.

Directions by bike

The meeting house is less then a mile off the Lakefront trail. Turn off trail at 57th Street underpass (at Museum of Science and Industry). Ride west to Woodlawn Ave. Bike racks can be found across the street from the meeting house at Hyde Park Union Church.
